how many comp dances next year will be to let’s hav ea kiki now that sytycd has done it?

well before SYTYCD did a dance to it, Glee covered it (also on fox).

I know but pop drop and roll was super popular at comps after sytycd did it top 10 girls and I just feel like this will be a competition song too
And yeah but who still watches glee?

biyuti:

lol.

and a white person being proud that they (allegedly) invented banks.

so much pride you must feel. banks.

and wormholes.

hahahahaahaha

White people invented banks and they are so proud of it that they gave the job to their Jewish overlords! Banking is good all the time 100% yes good yay that means we clearly love our bankers and would never hate them for handling money yea good

adding though that some Jews are white, and if they call themselves white it doesn’t make sense to say that they aren’t. It’s like, a lot of us are neither white nor PoC (though there are some Jews of Color and some white Jews) but like yeah self id is important in a case like this.

I’ve always been confused about this. I identify as white, but then again, I don’t, and it’s extremely confusing. Skin-wise, I’m extremely pale white, but colour has become more than skin tone. It’s overall just a big mess of an identity crisis I feel is not necessarily personal, but collectively Jewish.

Because Jewish is an ethnicity, and ethnicity =/= race, but ethnic groups can be considered parts of racial identities

Here the problem comes ~ yes, at least within the U.S. racism is extremely tied to colorism and so if one fits the white-passing spectrum then one is considered white within the U.S.~centric racial lense, but within the same spectrum of white privilege of non-visible PoC or white-passing ethnic groups, these groups still face discrimination and the label of whiteness disappears almost immediately, which is why I really don’t like blogs that focus exclusively on “U.S-centric” racism because when racializing ethnic groups you erase multiple experiences

And then there are PoC who are “white” or white-passing, considered “Caucasian” within the scientific spectrum and yet their experience doesn’t constitute with racially white cases, so how is whiteness really defined?

I would say privilege, and then you get again into the racial hierarchy, and it becomes so frustrating SMH

Advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And do you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It’s freedom from fear. It’s the billboard on the side of a road that screams with reassurance that whatever you’re doing is okay. You are okay. -- Donald Draper, Mad Men

I’ve put together this collection of recent sexist advertisements from different companies. To be honest, it was difficult to pick the ones I wanted because there were so many of them. It was truly abhorrent.
Donald Draper explains to us what advertising is. Its a stroking of the ego. Sexism and patriarchy are rampant within society (advertising also touches on things like race, body size, and social class but for the purposes of this post I am focusing on those two), and thus advertising capitalizes on that, makes money on it, and perpetuates it. We’re surrounded by this kind of advertising. We can’t escape it, we’re trapped.
So when shopping or flipping through a magazine, or even driving down the high way and reading billboards, let’s all remember to put our critical thinking hats on and to identify and call out the sexism. Advertising is a significant contributor to the continued social injustices. But remember: those problems come to an end with us. If we stop responding to these advertisements the way the companies want us to, then some real reform can begin.

adding on to me last post yes some Jews self identify as white and what not but racializing the entire group is extremely problematic when you get into layered experiences of Jewish people even in color-based-U.S. racial stratification ~ there is never going to be a short answer for something like that I get real tired of people pooping on white-passing/white-identifying Jews and using them as their explanation for their less than basic understanding of how crap works SMH
